Spring in Colorado can be unpredictable, and this wedding at the Greenbriar Inn in Boulder was the perfect example of how a little rain can make a wedding day even more memorable. Instead of stressing about the weather, these Jennifer and Steven embraced it and honestly, it made for some of my favorite photos from the entire season.
The Greenbriar Inn has such a cozy charm surrounded by foothills, so even with clouds rolling in, the atmosphere felt really beautiful. Guests gathered under umbrellas and laughed around with drizzling rain. Those are the kinds of moments I live to document, the ones you can’t plan, but you’ll never forget.
What I loved most about this venue is that it’s located just outside Boulder, making it a great spot to avoid city traffic but easy access to the foothills. It has hosted timeless weddings since 1967 on its scenic 20-acre property at the foothills. It mixes old-world charm with Colorado mountain vibes. The Main Dining Room and Sunroom have a soft natural light and cozy atmosphere, while the South Lawn, Cabin Lawn, or Greenbriar Falls provide beautiful outdoor ceremony backdrops if the weather allow. Inside, the Main Dining Room and Sunroom connect to become a flow-through space for dinner and dancing.
When couples ask me if rain will ruin their wedding photos, this day is the perfect example of why the answer is no. At the Greenbrier Inn, with its mix of indoor and outdoor spaces, it was easy to roll with the weather and keep the day feeling relaxed.
If you’re planning a wedding at the Greenbriar Inn in Boulder, Colorado, I can’t recommend leaning into whatever the day brings enough.
