Monterrey, Nuevo León, has easily become one of my favorite places to visit in Mexico, and it’s not hard to see why.
Why Monterrey is Perfect for Engagement Photos
One of the best things about Monterrey is how close it is—just six hours from Austin, where I used to live. It’s a major city, so there’s no shortage of things to do, places to eat, and new spots to explore. And from a photography standpoint, Monterrey offers so many backdrops for couples looking to take engagement photos.
This city holds a special place in my heart because it’s where my husband and I spent our first New Year’s Eve together. Every time I visit, I feel that same spark of inspiration!
The Best Locations for Engagement Photos in Monterrey
Before my first visit, Oscar and I did some research on what to see and where to eat, and I fell in love with Barrio Antiguo the moment I saw it. Its colorful streets, textured walls, and rich history reminded me of Casco Viejo in Panama, one of my favorite places to visit back home. Walking through Barrio Antiguo, I couldn’t help but imagine all the incredible photos that could be taken there.
That dream came to life when I had the chance to photograph Anne and Daniel’s engagement session. The colors, the textures, and the energy was everything and more.
